Wide and oblong in shape, it consists of four parts, the sheath, the petiole, the lamina, the appendix, and can reach up to five meters in length.

It is commonly grown in the tropics.
Properties
The cooking of the banana leaf helps to increase the content of calcium, iron, phosphorus and vitamins in any recipe.
Consumption
Banana leaves are not eaten, and once their content is consumed, they are discarded.
They can be used as a plate to serve food, or to wrap food during cooking to protect it. Cooking with banana leaves provides a sweet flavor and aroma to the content. To achieve their flexibility in cooking, they are previously roasted on a grill and their central nerve is removed.
