Introduction
The Paraguayan is a hybrid of the peach that has a particular flattened shape. It has a fleshy, sweet and juicy pulp and its skin is thinner than that of a peach. There are different varieties, with different colors of pulp.
Origin
The Paraguayan is native to China, and is currently grown in temperate climate zones. In Spain it is produced mainly in Murcia and Lleida.
Properties
It is a fruit rich in antioxidants, which helps to strengthen the immune system. It has a high content of fiber and water, so it has a great satiating effect. They have a high magnesium content, so they help regulate the nervous system. They are beneficial for the good condition of the skin thanks to their content of vitamin C and antioxidants. Finally, they provide calcium and phosphorus, essential for the good condition of bones and teeth.
Consumption
They can be eaten raw, or added to desserts, jams, fruit salads or cakes.
Conservation
The Paraguayan is perfectly preserved in a cool and refrigerated place for several days. It is advisable to let them mature at room temperature, and then keep them in the refrigerator.
